Target plans to open 11 new stores in 2016, primarily in big cities. These stores will fit the neighborhoods they are joining, varying in size from 16,000 to 122,000 square feet and featuring tailored assortments and services. For example, the new Target store in Lincoln Park North, Chicago, will serve many guests that live in condos and apartments nearby, so the store will have home items geared toward smaller spaces, men’s and women’s apparel and shoes, broad selections in beauty and tech, as well as fresh grocery and meal solutions. Lincoln Park North will also feature a Target Mobile department, Pharmacy and online Order Pickup. Many of the new stores will be near a university, and will feature a curated Fan Shop for students, along with lots of dorm essentials.
2016's new stores will open in: Long Beach, CA; Cupertino, CA; Philadelphia, PA (2 stores); Allentown, PA; Brooklyn, NY; Queens, NY; Tribeca, NY; Brookline, MA; Chicago, IL (2 stores). See details about each location here.
